Fisher-Price Dance Star Mickey

Fisher-Price have launched a new toy in October, the Dance Star Mickey. At first glance, it is quite an impressive toy. It's big (two feet high and about 5 pounds heavy), and it can move freely, singing, dancing around, laughing and talking to you.

It seems it knows no less than six songs (with different dancing moves for each song), and it can even play a couple of games with you. Its dance routine looks way more natural than the one of the Fisher-Price Mickey Hot Dog Dancer (an earlier, less advanced version) and it has more of everything when comparing it to its predecessor.

Looks like Dance Star Mickey is going to be the perfect companion for any kid under 9 years of age, because it can entertain him all day with his songs, dances and games. There are other interactive robots for children available these days, but this one has a certain "je ne sais quoi" if you know what I mean. Even though it can not really interact with you, it certainly leaves the impression it does. This Mickey is like those fitness instructors you find on Youtube that talk to you so convincingly that you almost believe that they really see you beyond the screen and they really wish to help you correct your exercise moves. Mickey leaves the same impression, and this is why it's going to be such a great success this year.

Imagine a bunch of toddlers standing there in the room in a circle, and in the middle there's Mickey Mouse entertaining them and making them clap their hands all at once after they finish dancing and jumping around... Sounds like FUN to me!

I have a more thorough review of the Dance Star Mickey on my website, so feel free to click and continue reading about this “funky” toy.
